Two types of spaces have been provided to pacify fidgeting. A place to play and release energy, and a calmer area with shag carpeting that encourages focus and listening.
The two zones are separated by a bookshelf and a level change. The “transition” space is also provided to give students an exciting way to move into the calmer area.
Stackable lap desks can be pulled out for work time, and are stored in “the cave.”
Textured grooves in the wooden desks provide a quiet way to maintain fidgeting, but still promote focus.
The cave under the loft space provides a cozy place to read that is still well lit and is a special spot for students.
